Today we have a good ol '78 280z. And if the front tire tells me anything, is that it has probably been sitting for a while. And the rear tire looks a bit off too. All the glass looks intact, and it seems like he gave it a new paint job recently, so hopefully all there is to do, is some "engine work" and probably a full suspension refreshing. But the guy is only asking 1500, so as long as it isn't rusted to absolute shit, it should be a decent car to do some work on and have fun with once done.

GO SAVE IT!

I'll look into this, I'm in the market for one right now, and I live fairly nearby

If you are into the market, try to save this one man, it looks like someone put some work into it, then other things got in the way. These things are rare enough as it is.

I'm waiting for the right one, I'm just afraid of rust.

That's what I would be afraid of too, I have heard that the Datsun Z's are notorious for rust if not taken care of properly

Yeah, I was warned by Datassun, to get a southern car, this one looks nice though, I might request more pictures, of the interior, before I actually visit the car.

I mean, even at that price the interior is recoverable, plus, it is a Datsun Z, while collectible by people like us, by no means a collectors car, so there would be no harm in getting a good custom interior to suit yourself, the main thing I would be worried about would be floor pan rust, and chassis/frame rust.

Yeah, last one I looked at needed frame rails, and pans

Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch.

That is what sucks about looking at an old car that not alot of people car about anymore, parts are hard to find. All the more while to check out every available option. If you need back up I can roll with you, Fredericksburg isn't too far away from me, about a good 20 miles or so, my commute to work is further.

Thanks for the offer! I'll definitely keep it on the table, I'm going to be Co-Owning, and I have to check with the "Business Partner" beforehand, I'm around an hour away, I'd just hope to get the car on the road easily.

Gotcha know exactly what you mean. And no problem I'm always willing to help out a fellow oppo.

Saying It needs engine work with no engine pictures, god knows what it would need. But who knows maybe the seller will tell you straight up

Thanks man! It's nice to know Oppos look out for Oppos, I hope he can provide an engine pic, before I go out to see it.

Hey, but thanks for bringing this one to my attention! If you ever need help searching for a car, or parts let me know!

I wouldn't go unless he provides an engine pic, just to know hes serious.

And I appreciate it brother, if you ever see ANY 944, 1985.5 interior parts, let me know, I'm looking for pretty much the whole set, particularly black, I'm set on the steering wheel though I'mma grab the 930S wheel.

Yeah, and that it "Needs engine work" Seems pretty vague to me, it could mean anywhere from new spark plugs, to a new engine itself, I've contacted him, and hope to hear back, The price just hints to me that there is something more wrong with it.

Oh, and I will keep my eye out for 944 interior parts, I ran across this guy who is parting out an entire car, hope it helps!

Yeah, not to mention it looks like it's been sitting a while so the whole engine may need a refresh, who knows but good luck with it.

And i appreciate that catch man I'm definitely going to check it out

Managed to scoop up a owners manual and the e-brake, I plan on changing my interior to black so that was perfect.

Yeah if he hasn't responded, probably just best to move on then

I just went up to the link again, he deleted the post, he probably sold it. And I appreciate it man, it isn't so much really about finding the parts, it's about being able to afford em haha.

Yeah, it looked clean, but whatever was under the hood probably wasn't good.
